Aim and Specialization

The foundation purpose of the institute is to contribute to the welfare of mankind through the overcoming of liver and digestive diseases by taking part in the development of medical science and translational medicine.

Currently, both a cooperative study between the clinical researchers and basic researchers in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Hallym University Medical Center and a translational study in Institute for Liver and Digestive Diseases to implement precision medicine and predictive medical care in line with the change in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution are actively being conducted.

Particularly, biomarkers, diagnosis, treatment, and research using intestinal microbiomes are underway, along with organic translational studies of basic and clinical practice related to stem cells, artificial intelligence (AI), and 3D printers.
